In a quiet forest, when the sun was going to sleep, a firefly named Luz switched on her little yellow light to brighten the way home for everyone.
"Good night, Light!" said the little rabbit, who couldn't find his burrow among so many shadows. Light flew slowly ahead of him to the round door of earth.
Then, a little bird was trembling on a very high branch, frightened of the dark. Luz landed beside him and showed him, with her soft glow, the cozy nest that was waiting for him.
The turtle was walking so slowly that it was getting late for her to reach the pond. Luz went with her the whole way, telling her how many stars were already shining in the sky.
One by one, the fox, the hedgehog, and the squirrels found their places thanks to the little yellow light who went back and forth without getting tired.
But when the forest fell silent and all the animals were sleeping, Luz realized something: her little wings felt heavy and her light was shining slower and slower.
"And who will keep me company?" thought Luz, yawning among the leaves of a soft fern.
From up above, the moon looked down at her lovingly and spoke softly: "I'll watch over you tonight, little Light. You've already helped everyone; now it's your turn to rest."
Luz smiled, curled up among the petals of a closed flower, and let her little light go out slowly, like a sigh.
And so, beneath the silvery moonlight, the little light who cared for everyone finally closed her eyes and slept deeply. The End.
